April 2011
HAPPY EASTER! HE IS RISEN! We were happy to be
safely in the states to celebrate Easter with all of our children, 2
sons-in-law, and our first granddaughter. It was also good to be all
together at our home church on Easter Sunday.
We are enjoying some time to catch up on our e-mails and
other work related projects as well as planning our time back in the
states. At this time, we have all of our churches, except one, planned
out for our short-furlough. We will only be able to get to about 7
churches this time, since we’re only home for about 3 ½ months. If we don’t see
you this time, we’ll try to plan a time with you in the next one or two
years. (If you want to see our travel itinerary, please go to our
website: www.gayle.abwe.org and view
our calendar.)
Tomorrow we leave for a 2 week trip to Turkey & Greece
where we will be taking a tour called “Footsteps of Paul & John.” We
have been saving money for a while, gotten some gifts, and received a small
inheritance from Michael’s father that has paid for this trip (not our
mission/ministry monies!) It is mainly to celebrate Michael’s 60th
birthday which was in February, to help solidify our Bible knowledge, and for a
much needed vacation, as Michael has not been off for any time since last
June. Please be praying for us as we’re gone.
We return to the states on May 14th when we’ll be
working even more on our presentation for our time back in the states.
Michael is scheduled to have arthroscopic surgery on his knee for a torn
meniscus on May 26th. It is supposed to be a “15 minute”
procedure with little to no recovery time. He is hoping to get back to
being able to play basketball and run again. (Once his ankle was
repaired, he realized that his knee needed repaired as he became more active!)
Continue to pray for the ministry in Togo. We hate to
be gone any time, but we also know that we need to come away for a while to
rejuvenate and to share His Ministry in Togo with others that you’re a part
of. We will be keeping up with the ministry in Togo while we’re gone via
e-mails and definitely with prayer. Please continue to pray for surgical
and medical coverage for different times during the year that do not have
adequate coverage. Continue to pray for the Mobile Medical Clinics and their
funding. And continue to pray for the new church building for Tsavié to
be built in Feb and the rest of the money needed to come in.
We appreciate you and are blessed to have you as part of our
team!
For His Glory,
Michael & Cheryl Gayle, ABWE, Togo
